As of. Jan. 29, 2024, CHP has partially relaxed its mask requirements for patients. Patients who are feeling sick or who have had Covid-like symptoms or a positive Covid test within the last 10 days are required to wear a mask.
With winter respiratory illness season here, and because Berkshire County is experiencing a new wave of Covid-19 illness in our communities, CHP has reinstated a mask requirement for patients and staff at practice locations throughout Berkshire County.
Effective in January 2024, CHP requires universal masking in all clinical and patient care areas. This includes all staff, clients, patients, and visitors in patient care areas, including waiting rooms, reception areas, hallways, restrooms, etc.
This requirement also applies to CHP Mobile Health vehicles and our Family Services offices where there are interactions with clients.
CHP is regularly monitoring the Covid Act Now data tracker (website: US COVID Tracker — Covid Act Now), which includes Berkshire County and Pittsfield Metro. This site uses weekly data from the CDC COVID Data tracker. The Department of Health and Human Services and Community Risk Levels are calculated from weekly COVID admissions per 100,000 population.
We continue to monitor the COVID risk levels in our facilities and county so that we can act promptly and effectively to keep our patients and staff as healthy as possible.
