Dawn Kohanski, FNP-BC, of CHP North Adams Family Medical, and Laura Need, MD, of CHP Berkshire Pediatrics, have joined Andrew Beckwith, CMO, to comprise the newly reorganized medical leadership at the countywide health care network.
Ms. Kohanski is a seasoned nurse practitioner with experience across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient medicine and health care administration. She holds BSN and FNP degrees from the State University of New York Institute of Technology, as well as a master of science in nursing and a master’s in healthcare administration from the University of Phoenix. Dawn has lived and worked in the Berkshires for many years and brings a particular commitment to improving the health and well-being of the residents of north Berkshire County.
Dr. Need is an experienced pediatrician with specialized training in pediatric cardiology. She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and earned her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency at Mass. General Hospital and later completed a clinical cardiology fellowship at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Need worked in inpatient and outpatient pediatrics in the Boston area prior to moving to the Berkshires and joining Berkshire Pediatrics.
CHP’s multiple practice locations in the Berkshires serve more than 30,000 adults and children with primary care, behavioral health, nutrition services, and women’s health care. CHP Family Services supports families in Southern Berkshire County with parent education, support services, and food security programs.
