CHP Mobile Health: New Boosters for Adults 65+ and Young Children

Apr 24, 2023 | News

For the youngest children and older adults, CHP Mobile Health has newly approved COVID-19 booster shots.

For adults 65 and older, CHP’s Mobile Health team provides CDC-approved boosters at least four months after the first booster was received. Most people with weakened immunity can also receive this booster within two months of a prior booster, regardless of age.

For children 6 months through age 4, CHP now offers the Pfizer pediatric bivalent booster at least two months after the final Pfizer monovalent vaccine in the primary series (children who previously received a bivalent vaccine are not eligible).

Parents are asked to call (413) 528-0457 to confirm their child’s Pfizer bivalent booster eligibility before visiting the Mobile Health clinic.

Appointments are recommended but not required. The CHP Mobile Health schedule can be found here.

The FDA has also approved the elimination of the multi-injection monovalent COVID-19 series and replacing that protocol with a single bivalent vaccine. This vaccine is appropriate for anyone who has not previously been vaccinated against COVID-19.
