Every month, over 1,200 people rely on our food assistance programs in Great Barrington, Lee, Pittsfield, and Adams, and that number keeps growing. Thursday, May 1st, saw the kick-off of our monthlong Farm Fresh Food Campaign. With a goal of $5,000 to reach before the month ends, we’ll need everyone’s help!
As the warmer months approach, many in our community look forward to enjoying the abundance of locally grown food from our region’s farms. But for hundreds of families across Berkshire County, summer also brings heightened food insecurity, especially for families with school-aged children who rely on free school lunches during the academic year. Families in our community face tough choices — like rent and utilities vs. groceries. We believe access to healthy, locally grown food shouldn’t be a luxury.
Our Food For All program was created as an emergency response during the pandemic, but has become an ongoing necessity for our local community and has only become more needed since. Over the past five years, grocery prices have increased by more than 20%, stretching already-tight budgets beyond their limits. Families who were once managing to get by are now looking to us for help.
Please donate today to help us provide farm-fresh food to those who need it most.
Any support and gifts contributed to the campaign will help us deliver locally grown, nutrient-dense food to neighbors who are counting on us—and you. Let’s make this summer a season of nourishment for every family.
