Berkshire South WIC at CHP

Healthy-food-download-free-high-quality-wallpaper-for-desktopWIC (Women, Infants & Children) is a nutrition program that provides health and nutrition education, healthy food and other services free of charge to eligible Massachusetts families.

WIC’s goal is to help keep pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women and children under age 5 as healthy as possible. Our staff includes nutritionists and breastfeeding support counselors who are here to provide education and resources for young families.  To apply for WIC at CHP, please visit our office at 442 Stockbridge Rd, Great Barrington or call 413-528-0457.

WIC provides:

  • Assistance with buying healthy foods
  • Tips for eating well to improve health
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Nutrition and health workshops
  • Farmer’s Market checks

WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. You can participate in Berkshire South WIC if:

  • You live in Massachusetts
  • You have one or more children child under age 5
  • Or, you are a pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding mother
  • Have a family income that meets WIC guidelines.

CHP WIC welcomes men to participate in this program! Fathers and other caregivers of kids under 5 are encouraged to enroll and to bring kids to appointments, attend nutrition and health workshops, and use your WIC card in grocery stores.
